The 31-year-old has been rooted to the bench for most of this season, making only six appearances in all competitions.
According to La Gazetta dello Sport, AC Milan are hoping to sell the Dutch international this January, and are offering his services to a number of clubs at a low fee. The Italian giants fear the players wages may be a major stumbling block though, with De Jong contracted at the San Siro until 2018 and on a salary of around €3 million a year.
De Jong joined AC Milan in 2012 from Manchester City and has made 79 appearances for the club.
