According to De Telegraaf the 21-year-old will undergo his medical on Monday before putting pen to paper on the one-year loan deal, with Van Ginkel set to join fellow Chelsea team mate Fernando Torres at the San Siro.
Van Ginkel joined Chelsea from Vitesse in 2013 but an injury cost him to miss most of last season, limiting the midfielder to only four official appearances. There was hope that Van Ginkel would gain first team action this season after featuring during pre-season, but the midfielder has failed to even make the bench for Chelsea in their opening three Premier League matches.
The move will give Van Ginkel the chance to gain regular first team action, and he could make his debut on the 14th of September against Parma. Van Ginkel joins Jonathan de Guzman and Stefan de Vrij as Dutchman to join Italian sides this summer.
