AZ Alkmaar have moved up to 4th in the Eredivisie after a well earned 3-2 win over ADO Den Haag on Saturday evening.

az djbnfbnWith new coach John van den Brom watching from the stands AZ Alkmaar fell behind on 42 minutes as Michiel Kramer powerfully headed Aaron Meijers cross past Sergio Rochet. However three minutes later Simon Poulson equalised with a fine effort which sneaked into the net off the underside of the crossbar.

After the break AZ took control with Markus Henriksen being denied by Martin Hansen and Robert Muhren sending a free header past the post. The away side finally took the lead on 67 minutes when right back Mattias Johansson fired into the roof of the net from a tight angle.

A curling free kick from Nemanja Gudelj made it 3-1 for AZ, but Roland Alberg made it an exciting end when he pulled one back for ADO Den Haag with five minutes to go. However AZ held on to climb to fourth, while ADO Den Haag are now without a win in four games, and they slip to 15th.
