Utrecht piled the misery on ADO Den Haag on Sunday as they came away from the Kyocera Stadion with a deserved 2-0 victory.

utreashdhdThe Chinese ownership of ADO Den Haag has been the main talking point in the Hague for the past week and on Sunday fans protested against majority shareholder Hui Wang.

On the pitch, there wasn’t much to cheer about either for the home crowd with Utrecht taking the lead on 29 minutes through Nacer Barazite who finished off a move started by Yassin Ayoub.

The home side were lucky not to concede a penalty on the stroke of half-time with Tom Beugesldijk’s challenge on Ayoub deemed to have taken place outside the box, with replays showing it was actually inside.

At the start of the second half, Gervane Kastaneer nearly equalised for ADO Den Haag but the attackers effort came back of the post. On 75 minutes, Beugelsdijk was sent off for a second yellow and soon after Utrecht sealed their victory through Sebastien Haller, who had seen a stunning volley disallowed earlier in the half.

The win lifts Utrecht to 7th, while ADO Den Haag now sit 15th.
