ADO Den Haag started with newcomers Guyon Fernandez, Abdenasser El Khayati and Randy Wolters in their starting line-up, but the fresh faces couldn’t inspire an improved performance.
After 29 minutes it was 1-0 to Vitesse as Ricky van Wolfswinkel laid the ball off to Adnane Tighadouini, who curled the ball into the bottom corner from just outside the box. Two minutes later it was 2-0, with a suspiciously looking offside Van Wolfswinkel finishing off a pass from Milot Rashica.
In the second half, ADO Den Haag failed to mount a comeback and Vitesse could have added a third before the end through Kelvin Leerdam, but settled for the two-goal win.
It is now three wins in four games for Vitesse, who sit 5th, while ADO Den Haag are 16th.
