ADO Den Haag came from behind to beat Heracles Almelo 4-1 and rise into the top ten.

Heracles turned up in the Hague on the back of two straight wins and they took the lead on ten minutes when Kristoffer Peterson found an unmarked Reuven Neimeijer in the box for a tap-in.

ADO Den Haag gradually grew into the game and after Aaron Meijers went close twice from distance the hosts levelled on 28 minutes. A corner caused mayhem in the Heracles box and Melvyn Lorenzen took advantage to net his first Eredivisie goal.

The home side should have been ahead at the break, but Wilfried Kanon could only hoof the ball over the bar when it was played into his path at point blank range. Four minutes into the second half, ADO Den Haag missed another glorious chance with Erik Falkenburg only able to tamely shoot a cross straight into the arms of Bram Castro from a few yards out.

Eventually, in the 75th minute, Nasser El Khayati raced into the Heracles box before sending a low strike past a rooted Castro to put ADO Den Haag in front. Substitute Björn Johnsen fired in the third with five minutes to go before Elson Hooi raced in on goal and slotted the ball past Castro to make it 4-1.

The victory lifts ADO Den Haag up to ninth, while Heracles slip to 11th.
