Despite playing most of the game against ten-men, ADO Den Haag were held to a 1-1 draw against Groningen.

Still without a manager and sitting in the bottom two, Groningen headed into the game looking for a big victory.

However, in the 20th minute, Gabriel Gudmundsson opened the scoring for Groningen with a fine finish into the corner.

The visitors were dominant but in the 42nd minute, ADO Den Haag equalised through Tomas Necid, who finished after Tom Beugelsdijk directed a free kick across goal.

Groningen were then reduced to ten men in first half stoppage time, when Deyovaisio Zeefuik was punished for an elbow.

Despite having ten men, Groningen remained dangerous after the break with Kaj Sierhuis shooting wide before he hit the bar with a header. At the other end, Erik Falkenburg had the ball in the net but used a hand.

Neither side could find a winner before the end and in stoppage time, ADO were also reduced to ten men with Beugelsdijk shown his second yellow card.

ADO Den Haag remains 17th while Groningen are 10th.
