A statement on the clubs website read, “The management board and the supervisory board of the club are in good agreement with Petrovic and decided to terminate the cooperation with immediate effect,”
Petrovic was appointed as ADO Den Haag’s coach last summer after Henk Fraser departed for Vitesse Arnhem. The club began the season well with ten points from their opening four games, but have nosedived from that point and currently sit 16th and only two spots above the relegation zone.
Assistant coach Ekrem Kahya will take over the reigns for now but the club expect to appoint a successor swiftly as they look to avoid relegation.
Petrovic is the first managerial casualty of the season.
