ADO Den Haag’s perfect start to the campaign was brought to the end on Sunday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Heracles Almelo.

The home side went in search of their fourth straight win but found themselves behind after 18 minutes when Ernestas Setkus spilled a Illias Bel Hassani free kick and Robin Gosens followed up on the rebound.
The lead only lasted ten minutes before Mike Havenaar equalised with an accurate drive from an acute angle after Gervane Kastaneer headed the ball into his path.
In the second half both sides missed good chances before ADO Den Haag were awarded a penalty ten minutes from time after a foul on Havenaar. The Japanese international stepped up himself but went for a panenka which cleared the crossbar and meant ADO Den Haag had to settle for a point.
ADO Den Haag remain third, while Heracles move to 10th.
