Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is set to be sacked on Monday and reports in England suggest that Dick Advocaat is the leading candidate to take over at the Premier League strugglers.

advocaat azSunderland have gone six games without a win in the Premier League and Saturday’s 4-0 hammering by Aston Villa seems to have been the final straw for the clubs board, who are set to confirm on Monday that Gus Poyet has been sacked.

The Guardian are reporting that the club is looking to appoint a temporary coach until the end of the season, and have already opened talks with former Netherlands, PSV, and Rangers boss Dick Advocaat over the position,

The 67-year-old has been out of work since leaving his position as Serbia coach last November, but could be offered the task of helping Sunderland, who currently sit 17th, avoid relegation.
