KNVB director Hans van Breukelen travelled to Turkey last weekend for a two-day meeting with the current Fenerbahce coach days after meeting Henk ten Cate in Abu Dhabi.

There is no agreement with Advocaat yet, and it is unclear whether the 69-year-old is keen on a third spell in charge of Oranje. Advocaat was also assistant to Danny Blind before leaving to take over at Fenerbahce last year.

Ten Cate is second choice according to AD should Advocaat decide against the job, while the name of Huub Stevens has been put forward. However, Stevens was forced to step down as Hoffenheim coach because of cardiac arrhythmia in 2016.
