The 28-year-old had an excellent season for Feyenoord, scoring 15 goals and seven assists in 24 appearances.
Berghuis is attracting interest from abroad but Feyenoord are hoping to convince the winger to remain in Rotterdam.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Dick Advocaat is quoted by RTV Rijnmond saying, “Berghuis did a fantastic job in the second half of the season. He is an important player in the team. He’s very honest about that. He doesn’t have to leave, but if something interesting comes up, he’ll start thinking about it. And I get that too.
“You always have to wonder if he will get that with other teams. That freedom in his game. Then it is a feast for the eyes to see him play. Let’s all hope that he stays with Feyenoord”
Berghuis has a contract with Feyenoord until 2022.
