Ajax have been on a search for a new forward after Arkaduisz Milik left for Napoli and it seems his replacement will be Bertrand Traore, who was top of coach Peter Bosz’s wishlist. The Amsterdam club have reached an agreement with Chelsea to loan the forward until the end of the season.
Traore spent a year-and-a-half with Vitesse Arnhem, when Bosz was coach, and netted 17 goals in 48 appearances. He returned to London last summer hoping to be part of the Chelsea first team, and scored four goals in 16 appearances.
However, new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte does not see the 20-year-old in his plans for this season and the Burkino Faso international has jumped at the chance to return to the Netherlands and work with Bosz again. The deal should be wrapped up in time for Traore to face Rostov in the Champions League play-off first leg next week.
