According to Voetbal International, Ajax are close to agreeing a deal with FC Emmen for goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen.

Ajax are hoping to wrap up a deal for the Netherlands U19 international before they host Emmen on the 3rd of April.

Scherpen has made a big impression in his first Eredivisie campaign and Ajax are keen to bring in the 19-year-old with doubts over the future of their number one Andre Onana.

Scherpen has a deal until 2020 with Emmen and the club tried to get him to sign an extension. However, Ajax have turned the youngsters head and he will be heading to Amsterdam from next season.
