The 18-year-old signed for Ajax from Groningen last summer, but has been unable to earn himself a place in the first team, with coach Frank de Boer believing the youngster isn’t ready for the Eredivisie, despite his excellent form for the clubs reserves.
With Arkaduisz Milik set to be the number one striker for Ajax next season, the Amsterdam club are willing to loan Zivkovic out, and are now in talks with Groningen over a deal. Groningen coach Erwin van de Looi would be able to offer Zivkovic first team football, and Europa League experience after the club won the KNVB Cup.
Zivkovic made 37 league appearances for Groningen in his time at the club, scoring eleven goals.
