After sacking Marcel Keizer, Ajax have announced that Michael Reiziger will temporarily take charge of the first team.

After the cup defeat to FC Twente on Wednesday, Ajax announced that Marcel Keizer and his assistants Hennie Spijkerman and Dennis Bergkamp were ruled inactive as the club looks to cancel their contracts.

Peter Bosz, Frank de Boer, Dick Advocaat, Louis van Gaal and Henk ten Cate have all been linked with the managerial position already, but the club are set to take their time to make an appointment.

Current Jong Ajax coach Michael Reiziger will take charge of the first team for the time being with Winston Bogarde as his assistant. Ajax host Willem II on Sunday.
