ings burnley dgfEngland under-21 star Ings is yet to sign a new deal at Turf Moor and would be eligible to discuss a move with other teams from January onwards in a bid to seal a pre-contract agreement.

According to reports in the Mirror, Ajax director of football Marc Overmars has been studying the English transfer market and believes the 22-year-old Clarets forward would fit in perfectly with the Amsterdam side’s renowned style of play.

A switch to such a huge club could prove tempting for Ings, who also has a host of admirers domestically. With Burnley struggling just above the Premier League drop zone, it could prove difficult for them to hold onto their prized asset.

Due to his current age, a compensation fee of around £3million would need to be paid by any prospective buyer even after the expiry of his contract with the Lancashire outfit.
