Go Ahead Eagles have been relegated to the Eerste Divisie after a 4-0 defeat to Ajax who keep their title chances alive.

After the stunning win over Lyon in midweek, Peter Bosz decided to make some changes with Justin Kluivert, David Neres, Abdelhak Nouri, Heiko Westermann and Donny van de Beek all coming into the starting eleven.

After 24 minutes it was Kluivert who opened the scoring with a lovely strike from distance which found the bottom corner. Kasper Dolberg then made it 2-0 five minutes later, finishing off a great assist by David Neres.

At half-time Frenkie de Jong was introduced and the youngster took only three minutes to nod in Ajax’s third goal. Another substitute, Mateo Cassierra settled the victory from close range with twenty minutes left.

Go Ahead Eagles misery was sealed when Marcel Ritzmaier saw red with ten minutes left. Their relegation after one season in the Eredivisie has now been confirmed with the Deventer side cut adrift at the bottom of the table.

For Ajax, they are now just one point behind Feyenoord in the title race with only one game remaining. Ajax travel to Willem II while Feyenoord host Heracles.
