Ajax are 90 minutes away from the Champions League final after a 1-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur. Michael Bell rates the Ajax stars after another sensational European victory.

Andre Onana 7/10: Had a relatively quiet evening with Tottenham only managing one shot on target. However, he was excellent at clearing crosses into the box and run the clock down at times.

Joel Veltman 7/10: Made a crucial interception on Lucas when he broke into the box and was solid throughout. Had a feisty battle with Danny Rose, while he took one for the team with a pull back on Dele Alli.

Nicolas Tagliafico 6.5/10: Made a silly tackle which got him a yellow card that left him on edge for the second half. However, he remained solid throughout and got forward to help the attack when he could.

Daley Blind 8/10: Another solid performance from the centre-back. Made more clearances, tackles and interceptions than any of his defensive teammates and also won 5 aerial challenges which was crucial with Tottenham playing long-ball.

Matthijs de Ligt 7.5/10: The 19-year-old Ajax captain didn’t put a foot wrong in the defence and was a calming influence on his teammates. Another performance that proves he is ready for a move to the top!

Lasse Schone 6/10: Gave the ball away a few times early on and didn’t have the same touch and movement as some of his teammates. However, he put in a lot of effort and helped the Ajax midfield get on top in the first half-hour before tiring in the second half. Was the first to be substituted after the break.

Frenkie de Jong 8/10: Touched the ball more times than every other player on the pitch and kept Ajax on the move throughout. Not every pass reached its destination but his control and touch in tight situations was sensational once again. His intelligence was key.

Donny van de Beek 8.5/10: Scored the winning goal with a great composed finish. Possibly should have squared his second chance to Neres to make it 2-0 but overall the midfielder was excellent. Put in a shift all over the pitch and found spaces around the Tottenham defence constantly.

David Neres 7.5/10: Caused problems with his pace and trickery. Almost made it 2-0 with a strike that hit the post. Seemed to tire late on.

Hakim Ziyech 7.5/10: His vision and great pass set up the van de Beek goal. Was lively after the opener and found spaces around the box without providing another killer pass. Was substituted late on.

Dusan Tadic 7/10: Was again crucial at holding up the ball but didn’t get many chances to score. Saw a shot blocked in the second half in a rare opportunity. Lacked pace to exploit the spaces late on.

Noussair Mazraoui 6/10: Came on for Schone while the English side were dominating and helped wrestle some control back in the midfield. Had a bit of energy to get Ajax moving forward too. A tidy 30 minute cameo.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar N/A: Wasn’t on long enough for a rating
