Ajax have progressed to the Europa League last 16 after a 2-1 victory over Lille. Michael Bell provides his player ratings for the Ajax stars.

Maarten Stekelenburg 7/10: A good performance from the Ajax stopper, who made several good stops to keep Lille out. Standing out in front of the watching Frank de Boer.

Devyne Rensch 6.5/10: The youngster was in for the injured Noussair Mazraoui and once again put in a decent performance. Contributed to the attack and was solid at the back.

Daley Blind 6.5/10: Even at left-back, Blind had the most touches for Ajax and he kept the ball moving well. However, wasn’t as involved as he could have been going forward. Solid enough at the back with six clearances.

Lisandro Martinez 5.5/10: Made an early clearance off the line, but was at fault for the penalty with a stupid push on David.

Jurrien Timber 6/10: Once again proved why he is in the side instead of Schuurs. Solid performance by the 19-year-old but was kept busy and got a yellow for a late challenge.

Edson Alvarez 6/10: Made a number of interceptions in the midfield but also lost the ball at times. Did a decent job defensively.

Davy Klaassen 7/10: Got the opening goal with a header to ease the pressure on his side. In the second half he was crucial at pressing Lille. Missed a decent chance to make it 2-0 but still a good performance from the midfielder.

Ryan Gravenberch 5.5/10: Struggled to impose himself on the game and it drifted him by. Made a number of tackles, but didn’t control the midfield like he usually does.

David Neres 5/10: Neres goes down as the match-winner but he did not have a good game on the wing. Was barely involved before scoring an unmissable goal. The Brazilian is struggling at the moment.

Antony 4.5/10: You would be forgiven for not realising that Antony was on the pitch at all. Lost the ball a few times and was substituted in the 55th minute.

Dusan Tadic 7/10: Ajax’s captain crucial once again with the assist for the opening goal. Made five key passes and came close to netting in the second half.

Substitutes:

Brian Brobbey 7/10: Had a big impact on the Ajax attack after coming on. Held the ball up well, create chances, and got the assist for the Neres winner. Ten Hag is trying his best to get Brobbey to stay and you can see why.

Oussama Idrissi N/A: Not on the pitch long enough for a review

Mohammed Kudus N/A: Not on the pitch long enough for a review
