Davy Klaassen could have been heading out of Ajax on transfer deadline day, but director Marc Overmars rejected a bid money bid from Serie A side Napoli.

According to De Telegraaf, Napoli laid down an offer of €18.5 million for the Ajax captain and number 10, but the offer was swiftly rejected by director Marc Overmars, who had no interest in selling.
Klaassen, who is currently away on international duty with the Netherlands, had stated at the start of this season that he was not ready to leave Amsterdam yet, and is reportedly open to extending his current deal which expires in 2018.
