sinkgr ajaAjax coach Frank de Boer has made no secret of his desire to purchase Sinkgraven this month, and on Friday, De Telegraaf reported that they have got their man with the 19-year-old set to sign a five and a half year deal in Amsterdam.

Sinkgraven made his debut for Heerenveen last season, but has become a first team regular this campaign and impressed with his skill and composure on the ball. The Netherlands U21 international has made 21 appearances for Heerenveen this season, with his last coming on Friday night in a 0-0 draw at Dordrecht.

Earlier this month English media had named Manchester United and Liverpool as admirers, while a Chelsea scout also confirmed they were watching the youngster, but Ajax have swooped first in a €6.5 million deal.

Speaking to NOS, Sinkgraven said on the deal, “I am very happy with it.”

“This week I had a good conversation with Frank de Boer. I hope I’ve made the right choice.”

Once a medical is completed Sinkgraven will be presented as an Ajax player, and could make his debut on Thursday in the tie against AZ Alkmaar.
