The current Jong Ajax coach has been one of the favourites for the position since Peter Bosz left for Borussia Dortmund earlier this month. According to VI, only the last few details need to be worked out before Keizer is presented to the media.

The 48-year-old left Cambuur for Jong Ajax last year and guided them to second place in the Eerste Divisie, while playing some of the most exciting football in the league.

Keizer has clearly impressed the Ajax hierarchy, while he has a good relationship with assistant coaches Dennis Bergkamp and Hennie Spijkerman. He has also worked closely with a number of the clubs youngsters who will be part of the first team next season.

U19 coach Aron Winter is a candidate to step up and assist Keizer with the first team, with Michael Reiziger being considered to take over Jong Ajax. John Heitinga would likely step into Winter’s shoes and coach the U19’s.
