According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, Ajax will not use the option to sign Bruno Varela from Benfica on a permanent deal.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper returned to Ajax for a second loan spell in the summer and has been back-up to Andre Onana.
Ajax had the option to make the deal permanent for €6 million this summer, but A Bola is reporting that this clause will not be lifted, despite the likelihood of Onana leaving.
Varela is currently back in Portugal and it is likely that he will remain there to talk with Benfica about his future. In two loan spells, Varela made three appearances for Ajax.
