Ajax is looking for a new midfielder, and it appears that Davy Klaassen will be on his way back to the club from Werder Bremen. According to De Telegraaf, contact has been made by Ajax to sign the 27-year-old.
Klaassen left Ajax in 2017 for Everton, but the move to England did not work out and he later joined Werder Bremen, where he is contracted until 2022.
Ajax will meet with the management of Werder Bremen in the coming days with the view to completing the deal.
As well as Klaassen, Ajax are looking to bring in a new right-back with Sergino Dest set to join Barcelona. They have decided on Utrecht’s Sean Klaiber, who Erik ten Hag knows well from his time in charge of the club.
Ajax contacted Utrecht on Monday to make them aware of their interest in the 26-year-old.
