Ajax have strengthened their defence with the signing of Colombian right-back Luis Orejuela from Deportivo Cali.

After the departures of Jairo Riedewald, Kenny Tete and Heiko Westermann, Ajax were looking tight at the back heading into the new season. With, Luis Orejuela Ajax have gained a new right back and competition for Joel Veltman.
Ajax have paid €3,650,000 to Deportivo Cali for the 21-year-old, who joins his fellow Colombian’s Davinson Sánchez and Mateo Cassierra in Amsterdam.
Orejuela is Ajax’s fourth summer signing after Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Benjamin van Leer and Kostas Lamprou. They still hope to announce the signing of versatile defender Mateo Barac from Osijek.
