Ajax have beaten off competition from PSV to sign 18-year-old De Jong, who has signed a four year contract with the Amsterdam club. The highly rated midfielder will spend the rest of the season back at Willem II, which is considered better for his development with lots of competition for his position at Ajax.
Included in the deal is the loan of midfielder Lucas Andersen, who will spend the season at Willem II, after falling out of favour with coach Frank de Boer. The 20-year-old Dane signed for Ajax back in 2012 from AaB, and has made 53 appearances for the club, scoring five goals.
Andersen joins fellow Ajax loanee’s Richairo Zivkovic, Lesley de Sa and Ruben Ligeon in Tilburg.
