Ajax will have to wait to have new signing Antony in their squad after the forward was chosen in Brazil’s squad for the Olympic games.

The football tournament in the Olympics takes part between the 22nd of July and the 8th of August. That means if Brazil reaches the final then Antony would not join up with his new teammates until after the season has already started.
That means Antony could miss the qualifiers for the Champions League, should Ajax not win the league.
Ajax only recently confirmed the signing of the forward from Sao Paulo for an initial fee of €15.75 million.
