De Telegraaf is reporting that Ajax have started a charm incentive with Groningen midfielder and Heerenveen defender ahead of possible moves in the summer.

Ajax are set to lose a number of star players this summer with Matthijs de Ligt, Hakim Ziyech, David Neres and Donny van de Beek all rumoured to be following Frenkie de Jong out of Amsterdam.

Doan and Pierie are two of the biggest talents in the Eredivisie and Ajax are closely following their situations. The Amsterdam club invited both players to their Champions League clash with Real Madrid earlier this month.

The club also put the duo up at the Okura hotel, where the Real Madrid stars were playing. Doan decided not to attend the match and watched the game from the hotel, while Pierie attended with his girlfriend.

Pierie, an 18-year-old centre-back is coming into his final year of his contract with Heerenveen, and told Voetbal International, “I have another year after this season, so there are two options.

“If the club wants to get money, I have to leave this summer. Or I extend and I stay longer. I do not know what I’m going to do yet, but I would also say that if I knew it. I am someone who always chooses for his development. If that is here, I stay with the club. Is that elsewhere, then I go there. But my development is paramount, not the money. That will come naturally if you continue to play well and become better and better.”

Doan, a 20-year-old midfielder, joined Groningen permanently in the summer and is also being followed by clubs around Europe. Manchester City are said to be big fans of the Japanese youngster, while PSV Eindhoven could battle their Eredivisie rival.
