According to Spanish newspaper, Sport, Barcelona have been scared off by Ajax’s asking price for Matthijs de Ligt.

The Catalan side have been heavily linked with the 18-year-old centre-back in the Spanish media recently and are reportedly sending scouts to watch him in action for Netherlands against England and Portugal.
However, Sport is claiming that Barcelona have dropped their interest in De Ligt after being told by Ajax that he has an asking price of €60 million.
De Ligt, who has made 33 appearances for Ajax this season, has a contract in Amsterdam until 2021.
