Nathan Ake could be out for the rest of the season after suffering an injury in Bournemouth’s 4-1 win over Leicester City.

Bournemouth went into the game on Sunday needing a victory to keep alive their chances of avoiding the drop. Both Nathan Ake and Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld started.

However, it all went wrong in the first-half with Jamie Vardy giving the visitors the lead, while Ake went off the field injured. Danjuma was also substituted at the break.

In the second half, Bournemouth rallied and ended up winning the game 4-1 to move themselves within three points of safety with three games left.

After the game, head coach Eddie Howe confirmed to Sky Sports that Ake’s injury could be serious, “It doesn’t look too good. With such a short time left of the season, it looks like it’s going to be difficult for him to play.”

That would be a blow for Bournemouth with Ake the club’s captain.
