PSV’s midfield enforcer Andres Guardado has made a miraculous recovery from an ankle injury and is set to feature in the tie against Ajax this weekend.

guardado injThe Mexican international sustained an ankle injury during the win over Manchester United two weeks ago, which was set to rule him out for around six weeks.

However Guardado returned to training on Friday and coach Phillip Cocu stated after the match that if there was no reaction to training, he would feature against Ajax.

Cocu told the media, “He, Andres knows his own body and has been working day and night in order to be fit for match.”

Guardado has been missed by PSV, who have lost two of their four matches that the midfielder has missed, while they looked lethargic in the wins over Cambuur and NEC. His presence against Ajax will be a major boost for Cocu, in what is a must not lose game.
