Andries Jonker has been announced as the new manager of VFL Wolfsburg until the end of this current season.

Jonker has left his post with Arsenal where he had been head of youth development since 2014 to return to VFL Wolfsburg where he was assistant coach before joining the Premier League side.

VFL Wolfsburg director Olaf Rebbe released the following statement, ”Andries Jonker knows the club well and kept in touch with us after leaving to take up his post with Arsenal. Andries is an experienced manager and is an expert in the area of tactics.”

Jonker was an assistant to Louis van Gaal at Bayern Munich and has also managed MVV Maastricht & Willem II. He takes charge of Wolfsburg, with the club lying 14th in the table.
