AZ Alkmaar put a week of turmoil behind them as they beat PEC Zwolle 1-0 at the AFAS stadion.

henriksen bDennis Haar was put in charge of AZ for the game after Marco van Basten stepped back to an assistant role last week and Alex Pastoor, who was the first choice to become head coach left the club due to a contract dispute.

The home side were desperate for a victory but in the first half they found an inspired Warner Hahn in goal for PEC Zwolle with the keeper keeping out efforts from Jeffrey Gouweleeuw, Nemanja Gudelj, and Muamer Tankovic. PEC Zwolle did have the ball int the net on 30 minutes but Tomas Necid was adjudged to have used his hand.

Necid struck the bar in the second half and it seemed like the game was heading for a 0-0 draw but on 72 minutes Hahn failed to claim a corner and Markus Henriksen capitalised on the spilled ball to smash into the net.

PEC Zwolle slip three points behind leaders PSV and slip to third while AZ rise to eighth with their third win of the season.
