AZ continued to dominate, but both Johannsson, and Viktor Elm wasted chances to extend the lead early in the second half.

Go Ahead Eagles were unable to create any chances to get back into the match, with Marnix Kolder firing wide from range the closest they came.

It took until the 91st minute for AZ to seal the three points, and ease the crowd’s nerves with Elm heading a cross from Roy Beerens past Eloy Room.

Three minutes later, AZ made it 3-0 as Steven Berghuis finished into an empty net, after Beerens shot came back off the post with the final kick of the game.

The win sees AZ climb to fifth in the league, and three points below leaders PEC Zwolle, while Go Ahead Eagles slip to 10th after their second defeat of the season.
