Vincent Janssen’s first Eredivisie goals fired AZ Alkmaar to a 3-1 win over FC Twente in the AFAS Stadion.

janssen az jkjkAZ went into the game after the win over Athletic Bilbao on Thursday, but fatigue was not an issue for John van den Brom’s side as they dominated from the start.

However it took the home side until the hour mark to break the deadlock as Janssen finished off a cross from Joris van Overeem for his first Eredivisie goal. Ten minutes later Janssen headed in his and AZ’s second to put them firmly in control.

Ten minutes before the end Guus Huppert’s made it 3-0 with a powerful strike past Joel Drommel. Twente pulled one back through Hakim Ziyech moments later but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation.

AZ now sit ninth in the table, while Twente are 16th.
