The draw for the 2nd qualifying round of the Europa League took place on Wednesday with Utrecht and AZ Alkmaar involved.

After finishing fourth in the Eredivisie last season, AZ are looking to go on a lengthy run in Europe. Their first hurdle will be Swedish side BK Häcken, who finished fifth in their league last season.

Utrecht qualified for the Europa League through the playoffs. To reach the third qualifying round they will have to overcome either Akademija Pandev from North Macedonia or Bosnian side HSK Zrjinski.

Both Dutch sides will play at home first on the 25th of July. The return legs will be a week later.
