AZ Alkmaar have reached a verbal agreement with Watford for the transfer of winger Steven Berghuis.

berghThe winger has left AZ’s training camp to travel to undergo his medical in England and reach personal terms with the Premier League club. Watford are believed to be paying more than €5 million for Berghuis, who will sign a multi-year contract.

AZ director Earnest Stewart confirmed the deal to Voetbal International, “We are round with Watford. The agreement must still be put on paper and then the signatures come underneath. I expect no problems. ”

The 23-year-old has scored 19 goals in 70 league games for AZ. He was called up to the Dutch national team for the first time this summer, but did not make his debut.
