According to Algemeen Dagblad, AZ Alkmaar are hoping to strengthen their defence with the loan signing of Terence Kongolo from Huddersfield Town.

AZ Alkmaar need a new centre-back this summer after Stijn Wuytens decided to leave for Lommel.

According to AD, AZ has set their sights on Terence Kongolo and are currently in talks with Huddersfield Town over a loan move.

The 26-year-old joined Fulham on loan earlier in the season but then suffered a serious injury which has kept him out since February.

Kongolo started his career with Feyenoord, before joining Huddersfield in 2018 after a short unsuccessful spell with AS Monaco. He still has two years left on his contract with Huddersfield Town, who play in the English Championship.
