AZ Alkmaar have announced that they have reached a verbal agreement with John van den Brom to become their new head coach.

van den brom sjbdhjAccording to the clubs official website the 47-year-old will officially complete the deal early next week after talks with AZ Alkmaar reached a positive outcome on Friday evening.

Van den Brom has previously coached AGOVV, ADO Den Haag and most recently Anderlecht, with whom he won the 2013 Belgian league title. He will replace Marco van Basten, who has stepped down from his head coach role to become an assistant at the club.

AZ Alkmaar currently sit 9th in the Eredivisie after winning three and losing three of their opening six games.
