AZ Alkmaar has confirmed the signing of Hammarby winger Mayckel Lahdo on a five-year deal.

AZ Alkmaar have already signed left-back Mees de Wit from PEC Zwolle this summer and now they have their second acquisition.

The 19-year-old only made his debut for Hammarby last September but he has made a big impression in Sweden. A number of clubs were showing interest, but AZ Alkmaar have swooped the quickest.

Lahdo made 13 appearances for Hammarby last season, scoring twice. He may be the replacement for Zakaria Aboukhlal who is on his way to Toulouse.

Technical director Max Huiberts has told the AZ Alkmaar website that more new signings are to come, “We are certainly not ready yet. We are going to strengthen ourselves and we are still working on that.”
