van der linden go ahThe 24 year old comes in on a pre-contract agreement and is likely to replace the outgoing Simon Poulsen, who will sign for PSV this summer.

AZ were originally interested in Willem II’s Mitchell Dijks to replace Poulsen but with a potential fee rising to a million euros, obtaining van der Linden for nothing would appear a better deal.

Van der Linden, who has agreed to stay in Alkmaar for 4 years, said that he’ll look back fondly on his three years in Deventer. Although his immediate focus will be on survival for his current club. “I look back on three great seasons at Go Ahead Eagles. I’ve been through a lot, promotion, perseverance and now the battle for survival.”
