janssen aaajajaThe Premier League club are eager to sign the Eredivisie top scorer this summer, but have been knocked back by AZ Alkmaar on three occasions. Firstly with a bid of €10 million (plus €2.5 million in bonuses) then with an offer of €12.5 million (plus €2.5 million in bonuses) and finally with their more recent €14 million offer which came last night.

AZ technical director Max Huiberts told De Telegraaf, “The difference between supply and demand is too great.”

AZ are holding out for €20 million for their star and will not return to the table with Tottenham until they have upped their offer significantly.

Janssen has held talks with Tottenham in London and wants to make a move to a bigger club as soon as possible this summer. He would reportedly earn around €3 million a year with Tottenham.

Wolfsburg are also interested in Janssen, but the 21-year-old is not keen on the move to Germany, while the Bundesliga side also saw their first offer rejected by AZ.
