According to Sport1 in Germany, Barcelona and Bayern Munich sent scouts to watch Donny van de Beek in Ajax’s win over Schalke on Thursday.

The 19-year-old started Thursday’s 2-0 win over Schalke because of Lasse Schone’s suspension and made a big impression during the game. Van de Beek was unlucky not to finish the game with a goal as his strike came crashing off the underside of the bar.
According to Sport1, scouts from Barcelona and Bayern Munich were present in the Amsterdam Arena to cast an eye on the midfielder. Van de Beek has already turned down a move to Bayern in the past while Barcelona has been linked with interest on several occasions.
Van de Beek has a contract in Amsterdam until 2020 and has made 24 appearances for Ajax this season, scoring three times. It is unclear on whether he would accept a departure from Ajax before he is a first team regular at the club.
