Barcelona have been heavily linked with the Cameroonian for months as they seek a number two and potential replacement for Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.
According to De Telegraaf, Barcelona have now made an official approach to Onana’s agent Albert Botines. The Spanish giants are interested in a swap deal that could involve their number two Neto along with youngsters Riqui Puig, Alex Collado or Carles Alena.
However, Ajax do not want to lose the goalkeeper and are trying to convince Onana to stay for at least another year. They are also not interested in the swap deal and that means Barcelona have to pay a high amount, which they may be unable to afford due to the corona virus outbreak.
Onana has a contract until 2022 and has also been linked with PSG, Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Chelsea. Out of all these clubs, Dortmund is showing the most concrete interest.
