According to ESPN, Barcelona are close to reaching an agreement with Ajax for centre-back Matthijs de Ligt.

The Catalan giants have been linked with the Ajax captain for months but face competition from Bayern Munich and Juventus.

Sources close to Barcelona have reportedly told ESPN that the Spanish club have the situation “under Control,” and that De Ligt is only interested in a move to the Nou Camp.

Barcelona are expecting to pay around €80 million to get the deal done, which would be more than the €75 million they paid for Frenkie de Jong.
