Despite their La Liga success, there has been plenty of calls for Valverde to be sacked as head coach of Barcelona.
Reports in Spain stated that Barcelona had Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman at the top of their wishlist to replace Valverde, while Ajax boss Erik ten Hag was also an option.
However, Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has insisted that Valverde will remain at the club.
He said, “It’s the coach we want, it’s a medium and long term project. He has a contract and we are very happy with him.”
“Valverde has the support of me and the management. I already told him that the day after the exit (From the Champions League)”
That’s good news as far as I’m concerned, very good news. Both the national team and Ajax need some stability at the manager level right now, especially the former.
I worry Koeman could consider it if they are really interested & reach out to him bc his history with them. But be a shame bc he has really got the National team doing well. So I hope he wouldn’t consider it bc have so Much talent coming up & already there to really go far come Euros & next World Cup.
I can def understand them being interested in Ten Hag especially after his UCL run & Barca have struggled in UCL recent years going out I’m Semis. I don’t think Valverde is right manager to move them forward the way they like to play. But be another huge loss for AJAX on top of 3-5 class players they could lose.
Mr president still keep bed coach like him,Barcelona never dominate Europe in the present of valverde is not good at all, Barcelona in now days failing to control ball possession due to poor tactic , contihno is good play but present of valverde not playing very well, best coaches in the wold pep ,klopp and pochettino orthers like valverde not good at all,he failing two time in the continent
