Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has hinted at the signing of Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt.

The 19-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona this summer, while Bayern Munich and Juventus are also said to be interested.

The Spanish media is sure that Barcelona have won the race to sign De Ligt and club president Josep Maria Bartomeu has now stated he knows what will happen with the centre-back.

He told ESPN, “He is a good player and good central defender. I know what will happen to him, but this is not the time to talk about it.

“There will come a time to talk about him. Every year we investigate the possibility of attracting players and that will be no different this summer. De Ligt is, just like other players, an option.”
