According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have set their sights on signing Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico.

The 27-year-old is widely expected to be leaving Ajax this summer, and has stated his desire for a step up recently.

Atletico Madrid had been linked with the Argentinian, but now Mundo Deportivo is putting Barcelona’s name forward. The Catalan giants reportedly see Tagliafico as a perfect replacement for Jordi Alba.

Talks are already said to have taken place between Barcelona and the player. Barcelona also think they can sign the defender cheaper this summer after the corona virus outbreak.

Voetbal International journalist Marco Timmer is insisting, though, that no club has contacted Ajax. They may be waiting until there is more clarity over this season and Champions League places.
