According to Brabants Dagblad, Barcelona have sent their first bonus payment to Ajax, RKC Waalwijk and Willem II for the transfer of Frenkie de Jong.

When Barcelona signed the midfielder from Ajax last summer, it contained €11 million in guaranteed bonuses, which would be paid once certain conditions have been met.

Brabants Dagblad is reporting that the first payment has been unlocked with De Jong playing 37 games so far this season.

Ajax receives over €2.3 million, while Willem II get €250,000 and RKC Waalwijk banking €160,000. A welcome financial boost for all the clubs during the corona virus outbreak.
